Muse is the story of a too-intense love affair between Sheila, a struggling artist, and Mathias, an aging dancer. Sheila invites Mathias to sit for a series of paintings. He is intoxicated by the idea of living forever through her art. Instead, the decision leads to tragedy. And their families are left with an impossible choice that threatens to tear one of them apart. Muse examines themes of artistic inspiration, toxic masculinity, and the relationship between art, artist, and subject.
