Following job loss and a disappointing success seminar with renowned “empowerment guru” Carmen, Marguerite’s cynicism threatens to overpower her. But, through a chance encounter with Carmen’s working-class mom Shelly, she reconnects with what is truly important. As Marguerite reclaims her own power, she takes down (with a little help from an unexpected ally) the corrupt and selfish Frances Furst who runs City Hall. Along the way, she and Shelly manage to help Carmen see the error of her ways.
